Bradley Smith
Electrical Designer, Lighting DesignFor as long as I can remember I have enjoyed the world of design and construction. Whether it was drawing on sheets of paper, building tree forts, or fixing things around the house, I found them each exciting and intriguing in their own way. It was these interests growing up and the desire to design that led me to graduate Southern Adventist University with a degree in Architectural Drafting.
After graduating I found myself looking for a job that would allow me to make use of my education. Unfortunately, the economy had other plans for me. Prior to Kurzynske & Associates, I worked maintenance for a local private school helping with their rental properties and their industrial laundry. There were some positives with not taking the straight route to design. Those previous jobs not only increased my knowledge of construction but helped widen my area of experience.
In 2010, I started working at Kurzynske & Associates sharpening my drafting skills. It wasn’t long until I was able to use my experience to become part of the electrical design team. I have worked on a wide variety of projects, mostly dealing with quick-serve restaurants and education buildings. In the last few years I have been working to develop my Revit skills and helping others do the same.
When I am not working in the office, I try to make the most of my time with my wife and kids. Whether it’s bike riding, playing games, or going on an outdoor adventure there are always great memories in the making.
